24-month BSN Program Information & Questions
April 3, 2007

Question: Besides length, how does the 24 month program differ from the 14 month program?
Answer: The 24-month option requires the same courses and has the same expectations as the accelerated. The number of classes taken each term is less, the amount of time required each week is less and the pace is that of a regular junior and senior level major. There would be time to work part-time and attend to any family obligations.

Question: When should applicants expect to hear about admissions decisions for the upcoming May class?
Answer: Letters should be sent from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions this week.

Question: What was the average GPA of admitted may applicants?
Answer: Since that process is not complete yet we do not have any figures on this class however it will probably be above 3.0.

Question: When will undergrad admissions send notification letters?
Answer: Letters should be sent out this week. All admission decision notifications will come from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions via written letter.

Question: How many applications were filed for the 24 month option?
Answer: We received over 200 applications

Question: Some of my friends in the community college have already received letters from the nursing school.
Answer: We have sent some contingent notification of recommendation letters to applicants not currently UNC-CH students

Question: If the admission process is not over, how come some people went for orientation last night at the school of nursing?
Answer: Students who are currently UNC-CH undergraduates are notified of our intent to admit them to the upper division School of Nursing. They are then notified of pre-orientation sessions.
