College Preparation

If you are in college or planning on going to college, then you've probably already decided to apply to a bachelor's program in nursing instead of an associate's degree or diploma program. College students who wish to apply to nursing should put extra effort into doing well in math and science courses, while making sure to keep their overall GPA as high as possible.

In addition to specific coursework and a high GPA, nursing schools evaluate the extent of your knowledge of the career. Besides reading as much as possible, it's a good idea to work or volunteer in a health care setting before you apply to nursing school.
