STIs including HIV/AIDS are at epidemic levels in the Southeast. This program will explore the issues surrounding the epidemic and provide an update on prevention and management. At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • discuss the changing face of STIs and HIV in the southeast and NC
  • identify the components of risk assessment and prevention
  • describe current CDC Guidelines for treatment of selected STIs
  • describe the management of HIV symptoms
  • discuss current recommended HIV treatment
