Dr. Anna Beeber received a Junior Faculty Development Award. With this grant, she will explore services and staffing in assisted living (AL) settings and their relationship to resident outcomes.

The aims of this project are to: 1) use a preliminary cluster analysis of staffing and services in AL to examine if the configuration of RN/LPN staffing and service availability stays the same over time; 2) examine the relationship between staffing and service configurations and AL resident outcomes including falls, emergency department use, hospitalization, transfer to nursing homes, and cost; 3) examine the administrative, economic, and other considerations that influence staffing and service provision; and 4) use the findings to develop best practice recommendations for staffing and services that are tailored to variation in AL settings and resident needs.
