A very sincere congratulations to Darlene Baker, assistant director of the Education-Innovation-Simulation Learning Environment at the SON, who was selected the 2017 recipient of Sigma Theta Tau International’s Beta Nu Chapter’s Excellence in Education award.

“Ms. Baker’s dedication to creating optimal learning environments with exceptional simulation activities greatly enhance nursing students’ acquisition of the necessary skills to contribute to quality patient outcomes,” said Dr. Donna Roberson, Past-President of the Beta Nu Chapter at East Carolina University. “Her dedication and demeanor exemplify professional nursing for students. Ms. Baker is known for her willingness to mentor graduate teaching assistants and new faculty alike, thus ensuring the students they teach receive the best quality faculty.”

We couldn’t agree more or think anyone more deserving. Our thanks to Darlene for her outstanding work on behalf of the SON!
