On Thursday, March 6th, leaders in nursing came together to share provocative ideas and bold approaches for enhancing health care in Calling Forth the Courage: Making a Difference in Health and Health Care. The daylong symposium featured five speakers and an opportunity to reflect on the talks in an afternoon discussion moderated by Dean and Alumni Distinguished Professor Kristen M. Innovative School-Based Center Opens in Snow Camp

In response to the need for primary care services in rural North Carolina, the UNC School of Nursing has partnered with Piedmont Health, a nonprofit federally-qualified health center, and the Alamance-Burlington School System (ABSS) to open the first school-based and nurse-managed health center in Alamance County, a center that will serve both the school campus and the surrounding community.

SON DNP program in planning phase

The School of Nursing has requested permission from the UNC System General Administration and the Board of Governors to establish a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. Graduates of the DNP program will be prepared for careers as health care practitioners, nursing administrators and executives, and clinical faculty members.
