SON Faculty Deborah Mayer has been selected as a participant in the workshop, "The Entrepreneurial Mindset — Maximizing Faculty Impact," on May 14-17, 2012.

This workshop focuses on entrepreneurial thinking and turning ideas into reality. It is designed to help faculty members identify opportunities, develop strategies for implementing their creative ideas, understanding costs and raising money, and assessing progress toward meeting goals. Dr. Mayer’s research includes the development, implementation, and evaluation of eHealth interventions for cancer survivors. She currently has an NCI-funded study that developed a smart phone application for increasing physical activity in colon cancer survivors (SurvivorCHESS), which is now in a randomized controlled trial at three institutions. She will use this opportunity to explore ways to disseminate this application if the trial demonstrates that the application is efficacious.
