Doctoral students can expect to take two to three years of coursework in addition to completing a dissertation. The curriculum includes four components: a required core curriculum, a minor or secondary area of study, opportunities for mentorship and research experiences and a dissertation. A doctoral student has eight calendar years from the date of first registration in the Graduate School to complete the doctoral degree.
