Following is the software that you'll need to have loaded on your computer. If you have a CCI computer, all of the programs below will already be preloaded.

Mozilla

Mozilla is an Internet browser. UNC computer support staff recommend this browser over Internet Explorer because it is generally more secure. You may download this from the UNC Shareware Distribution Web site.

Symantec Antivirus

An antivirus program protects your computer from the viruses that can destroy files on your computer. You may download this from the UNC Shareware Distribution Web site. (You will need your ONYEN and password to download this item.)

Browser Plug-ins

Plug-ins extend the functionality of your browser. You may click the test links in the table below to test your own computer for any of these plug-ins.

RealPlayer: play course audio and video files [download]

Adobe Acrobat Reader: view PDF format files;
e-reserves, both scanned documents and electronic journals, are made available at UNC in PDF format [download]

Flash: a multimedia (animation, video, audio, etc.) file format popular on the Web [download]
