Debbie Thompson, EdD, RN

| Debbie Thompson received her BSN and MSN from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her EdD from North Carolina State University. Since joining the faculty of the School of Nursing in 1975, Debbie has had a variety of experiences in teaching, academic advising and student services/admissions. The focus of Debbie's work since 1985 has been educational mobility for RNs. She is presently the RN Options Coordinator, coordinating RN to BSN programs on and off-campus as well as the school's new RN to MSN option. | |

| Connie is a registered nurse public health educator. She has taught undergraduates at the UNC-CH School of Nursing since 1997, in both the medical surgical area and now full time in community health. She has also taught RN-MSN students in community health. She has eighteen years experience in health promotion and wellness education. Connie has a successful consulting business and presents education and training programs on a variety of topics for women, parents, students, youth, teachers, and other professionals. She also has training and experience as a support group facilitator, educational counselor and motivational speaker. She received her B.S. in Nursing in 1980 from Florida State University and a Master of Public Health in 1986 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband and two children. | |

Valerie Lunsford, PhD, RN Phone: (919) 966-0337 |
| Valerie Lunsford received her ADN from the San Antonio College Department of Nursing in 1973, and her BSN and MSN from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1996. During the intervening years between degrees, she held a variety of clinical and administrative positions, mostly in medical-surgical settings. Her MSN is in women's health. Valerie’s dissertation research focused on the process of recovery and lifestyle adjustment in women attending cardiac rehabilitation while recovering from a cardiac event. She is currently working on developing a faith-based program of physical activity and cardiac health education. At UNC Chapel Hill she has taught in clinical courses and has taught nursing research courses to the generic BSN students and RN to BSN students over the last four years. | |
