Earlier this month, Dean and Alumni Distinguished Professor Kristen M. Swanson, RN, PhD, FAAN, visited King’s College London to continue cultivating the SON’s ongoing collaboration with the London Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery.

During her time in London, Dean Swanson presented the keynote lecture of the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery Research Conference. Her talk focused on how caring has the potential to improve healthcare by transforming the culture in which caregivers work.

Dean Swanson also continued discussions that began when Head of King’s Nursing School Helen McCutcheon, RGN, RM, visited UNC-Chapel Hill earlier in the year. In addition to continuing faculty exchanges, Dean Swanson and Professor McCutcheon explored other possible collaborations, including student exchanges, visiting appointments, joint research, and sharing relationships with clinical practices.
