The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing offers an exciting educational option: Community-Oriented Primary Care for Underserved and Vulnerable Populations. It extends the strong clinical focus of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program by building on courses and clinical experiences required of all FNP students. Students learn to address the needs of populations and communities who experience substantial health disparities and inadequate access to quality health services: African Americans, immigrants, Hispanics, American Indians, and rural and urban residents.
Whether you are currently a FNP or are thinking about becoming one, take a few moments to consider how nursing with underserved and vulnerable people can make a difference in someone's life - including your own.
