Office of Multicultural Affairs

The Director of OMA provides dynamic and strategic direction, guidance, counsel and leadership for the School of Nursing’s multicultural and diversity goals, culturally responsive curricula, environment, educational outcomes and recruitment and retention efforts. With oversight for internal and external efforts to meet these goals, the Director stewards enhancements to staff, student and faculty awareness of the impact diversity and culturally competent care play in the delivery of healthcare services as nurses and the relationships with co-workers, implements and measures current and future resources and educational endeavors while collaborating with internal sources in creating new models to develop competencies and attract community partnerships and stakeholders.

In addition the Director, fosters, maintains and disseminates cutting edge knowledge of diversity and culturally competent care, professional growth, faculty and staff development and is responsible for oversight and coordination of action plans, ensuring that diversity and strategic initiatives are focused, coordinated, and carry forth the qualities of equity, merit, and inclusivity.
