Bev Foster received her PhD in administration in higher education from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned her BSN from Syracuse University, an MPH in community health development from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and a MN from the University of California at Los Angeles as a clinical specialist in maternal/newborn care. She has held numerous roles in both practice and academics. Her primary teaching areas include maternal/newborn care and community health nursing. She is active in community service in many local and state agencies related to health and human services, and serves at the national level as a CCNE program evaluator and on committees with the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. She is currently an elected member of the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Her areas of expertise include program development, instruction and evaluation.
