Tenure/Tenure-Track Position - Full Time

We are seeking applicants, with advanced research programs, at the Associate Professor or Professor level. Applications from scholars currently at the Assistant Professor level are welcome if they have established and competitive programs of research. Responsibilities include teaching and mentoring in the undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral programs, maintaining an ongoing, funded program of research, and working collaboratively with colleagues from other disciplines. Opportunities for practice are available.

 

Requirements include an earned doctorate, eligibility to obtain a license to practice nursing in North Carolina, evidence of scholarship sufficient to qualify for a tenure-track faculty position, and experience in teaching and mentoring undergraduate or graduate students.

Faculty Search for Master Teachers who integrate Innovative Pedagogies with Expert Clinical Skills

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing invites applications for full time, 3 year fixed term positions. We are seeking doctorally prepared individuals who have demonstrated the ability to integrate innovative teaching methods with current clinical practice expertise in the provision of learning experiences for undergraduate or graduate nursing students.

Excellence in nursing education requires the fusion of cutting edge pedagogy, clinical expertise, dynamic leadership skills and attention to cross- cultural issues. We seek to interview applicants who possess relevant teaching and clinical experience, demonstrated skill in pedagogies for teaching the clinical practice of nursing, a record of innovation and creativity, eligibility for licensure in North Carolina and commitment to diversity as a core value. Persons of color and men are strongly encouraged to apply for these positions. Nurse Practitioner applicants must have current national certification in a clinical specialty area. Evidence of scholarship adequate to qualify as a clinical associate professor or clinical professor is preferred. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications.

Endowed Professorship: End of Life

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing invites applications for an endowed chair position. Nationally-recognized scholars with established programs of extramurally-funded research are sought to join us in developing the science of the future. Individuals should be committed to continuing an active program of funded interdisciplinary research and providing mentorship to faculty and students in research and scholarship. An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and qualifications for the rank of professor with tenure are desired. The Professorship is for a period of five to ten years; a competitive salary, research release time, and a research stipend will be offered.

THE BEERSTECHER-BLACKWELL DISTINGUISHED PROFESSORSHIP: The Beerstecher-Blackwell Professor should have a commitment to interdisciplinary teaching and research on end-of-life care, palliative care, or the management of life threatening illness at any point in the lifespan.

The individual selected for this position will join a strong cadre of faculty who are internationally known for their research on preventing and managing chronic illness, on reducing health disparities, and on the organization and delivery of quality nursing care. The School is currently ranked fourth in annual research funding received from NIH. Faculty and students enjoy rich support for their research from the School of Nursing's research centers and Biobehavioral Laboratory and the University's 78 interdisciplinary research centers and institutes (e.g., Carolina Center for Genome Sciences, Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, Institute on Aging, Center for AIDS Research, Center for Health Promotion & Disease Prevention). Clinical Nursing Faculty

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing invites applications for one or more positions at the rank of Clinical Instructor and/or Clinical Assistant Professor.

 

Responsibilities: teaching clinical group(s) of students in a clinical setting and in the classroom.

Requirements: Master’s degree in an appropriate nursing specialty: Adult Health, Gerontology, Children’s Health, Community/Public Health, Women’s Health, and Psych-Mental Health; eligibility for RN license in NC; at least two years of clinical experience; teaching experience preferred but not required.

Faculty Position for Statistician

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing invites applications for a research track, fixed-term position for individual with advanced statistical skills. The position is available in mid August. Responsibilities include providing statistical consultation to faculty and doctoral students for their research studies, serving as the lead statistician on funded and unfunded research projects, serving on doctoral dissertation and master’s thesis committees, and, conducting power analyses and preparing data analysis plans for grant proposals. Classroom teaching negotiable. Doctorate required; background in biostatistics, statistics, psychometrics, or other quantitative field required. Desirable areas of expertise: analysis of randomized clinical trials, analysis of longitudinal data (esp. mixed linear models, LTA), multivariate statistics (esp. multilevel modeling, structural equations modeling, factor analysis), plus strong programming skills (SAS preferred).
