Congratulations to Emma McFarlane, Jennifer Nance, Sroda Porter, and Elizabeth Slater, our Chancellor’s Award winners for 2017! The awards were presented at a ceremony hosted by Chancellor Folt on April 18.
This year’s James M. Johnston Distinguished Senior Award for Nursing went to Emma McFarlane. This award, established in 1975, recognizes the senior student in the Johnston Nursing Awards Program who is most deserving of recognition for outstanding academic achievement and for leadership contributions in the School of Nursing and the James M. Johnston Awards Program. A monetary prize is given by the James M. Johnston Trustees.
This year’s George Livas Award was presented to Jennifer Nance and Sroda Porter. This award is presented to a senior nursing student selected by faculty in the School of Nursing who best exemplifies scholarship, leadership, and nursing excellence.
Teaching Assistant, Elizabeth Slater, was selected to receive a Student Undergraduate Teaching Award. This award was established in 1975 by student body referendum to recognize outstanding undergraduate instruction by both faculty and teaching assistants.
