Welcome to Gerontology and Aging: Transforming Care at the UNC Chapel Hill School of Nursing.
As the world faces an unprecedented demand for healthcare research and clinical services for aging adults, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing faculty is dedicated to meeting this demand. We view the role of nursing as one of promoting and advocating for the maintenance of physical function, personal autonomy, and the continuation of emotional and social connections of all aging adults, including those belonging to diverse populations and living in underserved areas.
Our research, teaching, and practice create the core activities for both transforming healthcare and improving the quality of life for all aging adults. Gerontology and Aging: Transforming Care collects a variety of resources to this end, including departmental information pertinent to current students and broader materials helpful to any with an interest in geriatric nursing.
