Welcome to the School of Nursing Global Health Resource pages

School of Nursing faculty, students and staff are committed to advancing nursing education and scholarship globally. Our goal is to expand our resource capacity to invest in strategic local and global partnerships and collaborations as we address our tripartite mission.

Globalization is one of six focus areas for the university as we seek to expand a worldview among faculty, students, and staff that recognizes we are all global citizens. We increasingly experience a world with few borders. UNC Tomorrow addresses Global Readiness of our constituents respecting that local is global as we learn to work among diverse populations with improved multicultural understanding.

It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child. If we think of the world as a village of 1000 people, the reality is that only 52 would be North Americans, only 86 would speak English, and one third would be children. How can we honor our responsibility to be a member of the global village, to contribute to improving the health of that village through education, scholarship, and service?

We hope the information in the pages will help guide you to learn more about global health at our school of nursing.
