Dr. Mami Kayama, Chairperson and Professor of the Graduate School of Nursing at St. Luke’s International University in Tokyo, Japan, will be visiting the UNC School of Nursing April 25th through 26th. She will give a presentation titled “Process and Prospects” about the DNP program St. Luke’s is working on establishing. Their DNP program is the first in Japan, and School of Nursing Professor SeonAe Yeo is leading the effort in its launch.

Dr. Kayama’s visit will further the relationship between St. Luke’s and the School of Nursing, whose formal cooperation began last fall with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU). The MOU seeks to establish a UNC-St. Luke’s International Visiting Professorship, which will allow UNC faculty to spend 4 to 6 weeks each summer in Tokyo to participate in teaching and research.

“Dr. Kayama’s visit finalizes the mutually beneficial relationship the School of Nursing is proud to hold with St. Luke’s,” said Dean Pergallo Montano. “We welcome Dr. Kayama to the School and we’re looking forward to the future of this global partnership.”
