The School of Nursing’s Center for Lifelong Learning provides opportunities and resources for nurses with different educational and experiential backgrounds to maintain and expand their knowledge, skills and competencies to meet their current and future needs in nursing practice, education, and research.
The Center for Lifelong Learning responds to state, regional, and national needs of nurses in clinical practice, nursing education, and research. Participants will receive Continuing Education Credit.
Upon successful completion of the continuing education activity, participants are awarded a certificate with designated ANCC contact hours.
The School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is accredited as a provider of continuing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
NC BON requires the licensed nurse to carry out a self assessment of her/his practice, and develop a plan for maintaining competence.
This assessment is individualized to the licensed nurse’s area of practice. This has been required for renewal or reinstatement of nurses’ license since July 1, 2008 and you may be audited by the BON. If you have not done this then go to the NC BON website and complete your required assessment.
