North Carolina Executive Nurse Leadership Institute

Overview

The School of Nursing at The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and the UNC Health Care System have developed a year-long North Carolina Executive Nurse Leadership Institute (NCENLI). 
The focus of the NCENLI is the knowledge and skills Executive Nurses need to lead in turbulent times.  This institute will provide the Executive Nurse with the skills, competencies, insights, strategies and techniques necessary for success.  Participants will learn practical skills for leading, managing and building the nursing departments.

Objectives  

Participants in this Institute will:

  • Understand, influence and commit to their organization’s values, goals and strategic direction.
  • Be skilled at bringing together interdisciplinary partners to focus on major health care systems challenges, issues and opportunities.
  • Become a force for change to positively impact the health of citizens, local communities, the environment, and the economy, within their respective areas.
  • Advocate for nursing within their organizations.
  • Make critical financial decisions during turbulent times
  • Create a workable strategic plan for the nursing department within their organization.
  • Establish strategies to overcome significant personnel issues

Accreditation

The School of Nursing at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
