On Sunday March 10, the Raleigh News & Observer published a front-page story highlighting the SON’s new DNP program. The story featured Matt Feinberg, RN, a student in the adult-gerontology nurse practitioner program as well as many SON faculty, including Dean and Alumni Distinguished Professor Kristen Swanson, Phd, RN, FAAN; associate professor and DNP Director Debra J. Barksdale, PhD, RN, FNP-BC, ANP-BC, CNE, FAANP, FAAN; clinical assistant professor Elaine Harwood, DNP, RN, RNP-BC; and clinical instructor, Leslie Sharpe, FNP. Tammy Triglianos, NP, who is currently serving as Feinberg’s preceptor in the Hematology/Oncology clinic at the NC Cancer Hospital, was also instrumental in the story though she wasn’t mentioned by name.
