Interim dean Donna Havens travelled to Orlando last week to fulfill her position as Chair of the Commission for this year’s American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet Conference. In 2010, Donna was selected by the American Nurses Association to serve as a member of the Magnet Commission. In 2015, she was elected as Chair.
The conference hosts more than 9,000 nurses, nursing executives and health care professionals with the goal of advancing the best practices in nursing. The Magnet program recognizes organizations who succeed in this goal. UNC Hospitals is one of the recognized organizations.
The Conference unfortunately ended a day early due to Hurricane Matthew. Despite this, Donna led crucial conversations about revolutionary patient care and excellence in nursing. We’re so proud, Donna!
