Hats off to doctoral students Nakia Best and Laura Britton whose dissertation research will be funded through funds endowed in the UNC School of Nursing Foundation.

Best’s research will be funded through the James and Patricia Leak Fund for Nursing Research, which was established by alumna and assistant professor Ashley Leak Bryant to honor her parents. The intent of the fund is to provide dissertation support to students who “have the interest and potential to make an outstanding contribution to the discipline of nursing through their research.

Britton’s research will be funded through the Linda Waring Matthew Fund for Nursing Research.  This fund was created to support doctoral students “who have the interest and potential to make an outstanding contribution to the nursing field through their nursing research.”

Congratulations to these two nursing scholars on these awards during a highly competitive season at the SON!
