February marks the beginning of the Spring 2014 portion of two hallmark seminar series. Ever thought about doing research? Attend the Office of Research Support and Consultation seminars to meet SON investigators and learn approaches for generating creative research. Want to keep up with developments in healthcare quality? Attend the Quality and Patient Outcomes seminar series to hear the latest findings from acclaimed UNC researchers.

    Creativity Suite Open House
    To kick off their Spring 2014 seminar series, the Office of Research Support and Consultation is unveiling a new Creativity Suite located in room 2700. This new “hide out” is where investigators can seek inspiration, meet to generate and share ideas, and initiate new projects. PIZZA will be served.

  • 6th Annual Excellence in Maternity Care

    A continuing education course from the Center for Lifelong Learning for nurses interested in maternal health care. In this course, you will learn about best practices and current evidence you can incorporate into your practice to provide excellent care to women during labor and the postpartum period.   • Ouch! That Stereotype Hurts!: Key Issues Related to Diversity and Inclusion in Nursing

    This seminar for current nursing students and students interested in applying to nursing school. Join Careers Beyond the Bedside in a discussion about how stereotyping, marginalization, and discriminatory perspectives negatively impact how nurses practice and care for their patients.

    Take some time out of your day to give a potentially life-saving blood donation. Donors who are interested in scheduling an appointment ahead of time, can sign up at www.redcrossblood.org/carolinas. Walk-in donations are also welcome on a first-come, first-to-donate basis!
