Congratulations to Rebecca W. Carter, BSN ’78, MSN ’85, RN, FACHE, who has been named president of FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital, located in Southern Pines, NC. 

Carter, a native of North Carolina, received undergraduate and graduate degrees in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing has served for 17 years as chief operating officer and chief nursing officer for Transylvania Regional Hospital, and for eight years served as director of clinical education, support and development at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville.

“I am confident that Becky’s leadership and exceptional commitment to patient care will benefit FirstHealth of the Carolinas and the communities we serve,” said Mickey Foster, FirstHealth chief executive officer.  “Becky’s deep understanding of community hospitals and rural health care, as well as the needs of our patients and community, will continue to help us deliver the highest quality care to the residents of Montgomery County.”
