We are excited to announce that the president and CEO of the National League for Nursing (NLN), Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN, will deliver the keynote address to the Class of 2021 at our virtual Spring Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday, May 12 at 6:00 pm.
The NLN is the premier organization for nurse faculty and leaders in nursing education, offering professional development, networking opportunities, testing services, nursing research grants, and public policy initiatives to its 40,000 individual and 1,200 institutional members.
Dr. Malone began her distinguished career as a surgical staff nurse, and has since held many leadership roles, including dean of the School of Nursing at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and president of the American Nurses Association. Congressional leaders and policymakers turn to Dr. Malone for her expert perspective on the increasing need for nurse workforce development support and education for nurse educators to address the persistent shortage of nurses, which threatens health care delivery across the United States, from inner cities to suburbs to rural communities.
Under her leadership, the NLN has advanced the science of nursing education by promoting greater collaboration among stakeholders, increasing diversity in nursing and nursing education, and advancing excellence in care for patients. We look forward to hearing her wisdom and advice on commencement day!
