Courtney Calhoun, MSN, RN-BC, CNE

Nursing Instructor/Course Director

Courtney Calhoun has been a nursing educator since 2017 and has taught several courses including classroom and clinical portions.  Courtney obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing Education from University of North Carolina Wilmington and is currently enrolled at Gardner Webb University to obtain a Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a concentration in leadership. 

Courtney has a background in medical-surgical nursing, public health, pediatrics, and mother/baby.  Courtney is certified in medical-surgical nursing through American Nurses Credentialing Center and holds her Certified Nurse Educator through the National League for Nursing. 

Her interests include being passionate about community health nursing and ensuring that the topic of diverse populations are appropriately represented in the classroom and the clinical setting in nursing curricula.  Courtney is very passionate about nursing education and connecting community to the classroom. Courtney resides in the small town of Bailey, NC with her husband and two dogs.
