Dr. Watts Isley is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UNC-CH School of Nursing. A Boston native, she earned her BSN from MA College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in Boston MA. Shortly after she moved to NC and began her nursing career at UNC Medical Center in adult health. She started in trauma & orthopedics before moving to surgical ICU and eventually moved into public health and care management, both in the hospital and the community setting.

Dr. Watts Isley completed her DNP in adult/gerontology in 2020 and has been working with NC DHHS on a statewide study looking at retention and recruitment of the public health nursing workforce. She will be presenting her study at the 2020 APHA annual conference.

Dr. Watts Isley is currently in the 2020 cohort of the AJPH Student Think Tank and an active member of APHA, NCPHA and STTI. She lives in Chapel Hill with her partner, child and two dogs. Dr. Watts Isley enjoys theater, scary movies and picnics. Twitter: @jaimeeleewatts
