With your support, this world-class facility will increase the school’s overall space by 20,000 square feet and provide a modern structure complete with the latest technologies to better prepare students. The new building will enable an increase in class size each year, which means more Carolina Nurses entering the workforce each year to provide quality, compassionate care on the frontlines of our healthcare systems.

Katherine Wilson
In honor of a remarkable individual who defied the odds, the Katherine Wilson Scholarship was established in 2005 in memory of an inspiring SON alumna. Katherine battled small-cell lung cancer while earning her BSN, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her and embodying resilience and unwavering determination. Tragically, Katherine’s journey ended at the young age of 28. One of Katherine’s hometown friends is providing matching funds of $200,000 to name a room in honor of Katherine in the new Nursing Education Building in the hopes of encouraging others to remember Katherine and lend their support to the building campaign in her memory. The room or space ultimately named for Katherine will serve as a lasting tribute to a truly extraordinary individual and her love for and dedication to Carolina and the profession of nursing.
