How a superstar athlete’s investment is improving health care in Wilmington

Jasmin Carey, FNP, graduated from Carolina Nursing in 2022. Today, she is helping build a medical home for patients in East Wilmington.

As a provider at the Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinic, Jasmin works with patients who are insured through Medicaid, Medicare, or are uninsured. She has already seen how increased access to primary care can reduce reliance on urgent care and emergency departments.

“We know that simply getting a patient to a doctor’s office and prescribing them a medication is not where it stops,” she said.

Carolina Nursing alumni continue to lead in expanding access to care across North Carolina.
