Keynote Speaker

We are honored to welcome Jeff Strickler, DHA, RN, NEA-BC, Chief Operating Officer of UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus & President of UNC Health Chatham Hospital, as our keynote speaker.
Dr. Strickler has been with UNC Hospitals since 2003, previously serving as Clinical Nurse Director for Emergency Services. A Registered Nurse and Paramedic, he has extensive experience in Emergency, Trauma, and Transport Nursing and teaches as adjunct faculty at UNC’s Gillings School of Global Public Health.
He holds a BSN, a Master’s in Management, and a Doctorate in Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina. An active author and editorial board member, he also serves on numerous local community boards, including the Hillsborough/Orange County Chamber of Commerce and the Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness.
In his spare time, Dr. Strickler founded GMS Training Solutions, a company specializing in training and professional development through gaming and simulation.
Tickets & Seating
Each student will receive 3 tickets for guests. Tickets can be transferred between students if needed. (More details on this process coming soon.)
Faculty Pinning
Students will be pinned by a faculty member only. A list of available faculty is included in the Pinning Ceremony RSVP form.
Navigation & Parking
Visitor parking is available in the Dogwood deck on Manning Drive. The Dogwood deck is three-tenths of a mile past South Columbia Street on the right. Its entrance is on East Drive.
From the parking deck, walk up Manning Drive toward the stoplight at Columbia. UNC Hospitals will be across the street.
Take the steps on the left side of Thurston-Bowles. The Thurston-Bowles building is on the corner of Columbia Street and Manning Drive, on the same side as the parking decks. Both the Neuroscience Research Building and the Medical Biomolecular Research Building (MBRB) are located behind Thurston-Bowles, across the courtyard.
Dress Code
Students should wear professional attire, such as dress pants, skirts, blouses, button-down shirts, dresses, or suits. Comfortable yet polished shoes are recommended. Guests are encouraged to dress in business casual or semi-formal attire to honor the occasion.
