Navigation & Parking

We have received an overwhelming response for the 75th Anniversary Celebration and want to share parking options and event details in advance so you can plan accordingly.

The State of the School Address will be a one-hour presentation from 4 to 5 p.m. by the Dean highlighting the School of Nursing’s work over the past year. Parking will be limited during this portion of the program, so guests who wish to arrive when parking options are more plentiful may choose to arrive at 5 p.m. to attend only the 75th Anniversary Reception.

The State of the School Address will be livestreamed and recorded for those who wish to watch it later.

Accessible Parking

For guests who may have difficulty walking from the parking lot, there will be a drop-off area at the front of the Kenan Center. Drive along Kenan Center Dr until you reach the front of the building and see the School of Nursing sign. Carolina Nursing representatives will be available if you need assistance.

There are also a limited number of handicapped spots in front of the Kenan Center available on a first-come, first-served basis. We highly recommend that folks with mobility needs arrange to be dropped off in front of the venue.

Accessibility Information

For the State of the School Address, we’ll be in a large auditorium with ample seating for everyone. The entrance is located on the first floor, and the front row (30 seats) will be reserved for guests who are unable to use stairs. The second row and beyond will require the use of a few low steps.

The auditorium is just a short walk from the reception area. A golf cart will be available to assist guests who need transportation between the two locations.

The reception is located on the first floor and a mix of standing and seated tables will be available. Additional chairs will also be placed along the walls for guests who prefer to sit or cannot stand for long periods
