Carolina Nursing Topping Off Celebration and State of the School Address

We invite you to join us on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, for a Topping Off Celebration to celebrate the completion of the structural framework for our new Nursing Education Building. Dean Howard will provide updates on Carolina Nursing’s accomplishments throughout the past year during the annual State of the School Address. Following the address, we invite you to join us outside of Carrington Hall for a commemorative beam signing, tours of the construction site, and a reception featuring ice cream, nachos, and plenty of toppings!

This event is free and open to the public. The State of the School Address will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person.

Navigation & Parking

Visitor parking is available in the Dogwood Deck (170 Manning Dr, Chapel Hill, NC 27599) for $1.50/hour. Carrington Hall is an approximately 15-minute walk from the Dogwood Deck. Click here for walking directions.

If you plan to arrive after 5 p.m., public parking is available in the Bell Tower Deck (Bell Tower Dr, Chapel Hill, NC). We recommend parking on or near the 4th floor for the easiest access to the pedestrian bridge. Carrington Hall is an approximately 5-minute walk from the Bell Tower Deck. **Please note that the Bell Tower Deck gate arm automatically raises at 5 p.m. for public access. You will not be able to access the deck early without a valid campus permit.

Guests who are being dropped off may do so in front of Carrington Hall (120 Medical Dr, Chapel Hill, NC 27599).

Accessibility Information

We recommend those with mobility issues arrange to be dropped off at Carrington Hall (120 Medical Dr, Chapel Hill, NC 27599) or celebrate with us from afar by watching the State of the School Address livestream.

A short walk will be required to get from the auditorium to the reception. The reception will be located outside on a grassy patch. Limited seating will be available outside.
