We invite you to join us on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Blue Zone at Kenan Stadium to celebrate the groundbreaking of our new Nursing Education Building. The ceremony will begin at 3:00 p.m. and be followed by a reception & school-wide expo showcasing student and faculty activities throughout the School of Nursing.
This event is free and open to the public and will be live-streamed for those unable to attend.

Please note: Although safety measures prevent us from holding the Groundbreaking Ceremony at the construction site, we’ve planned virtual activities that are sure to be both meaningful and memorable. We can’t wait to share them with you!
Visitor parking will be available in the Rams Head Parking Deck located at 104 Ridge Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514. After entering the deck and parking, take the elevator to the plaza level (Floor P). Following the signs and balloons, take the path to the right when facing the stadium. Enter the Kenan Memorial Stadium through the small gate on the northeast side of the stadium. After entering the stadium, take a left to make your way to the front of the Blue Zone.

Those who register before noon on Tuesday, October 22, will receive a QR code via email on Wednesday, October 23, to validate their parking in the Rams Head Deck for the Groundbreaking Celebration. If you register after noon on Tuesday, October 22, you will not receive a parking QR code in advance, but can have your parking ticket validated by a SON representative when you check-in or after the ceremony during the reception. If you do not validate your ticket, parking will be $1.75 per hour.
For guests who may have difficulty walking from the parking deck, there will be a drop-off area near the loading dock of the Blue Zone. To the right of the Rams Head Parking Deck entrance is a tunnel. Drive through the tunnel and make your way to the Loudermilk Lot drop-off location. Once dropped off, go through the door and take the elevator to the Concourse Club (3rd floor).

Please note that we are expecting a large turnout for this event. While we will have limited seating available, we kindly ask that you give priority to those who may have difficulty standing for long periods of time. Thank you for your understanding.
