The Oath Ceremony will recognize incoming BSN-1 students and rising ABSN-2 students who will be graduating in Spring of 2027 and Summer of 2026, respectively. Students will hear from Carolina Nursing alumni, be recognized individually, and recite the School of Nursing Oath as a group.

Guest Tickets
Every student who RSVP’d for the ceremony will receive three guest tickets. Students do not need a ticket for themselves. Children 3 and under who do not need their own seat, do not need a ticket. After registration has closed, you will receive information on where to pick up your guest tickets. You are welcome and encouraged to share extra guest tickets with your classmates.
Extra guest tickets may be available via random lottery after registration has closed. There will be an opportunity to indicate your interest for extra guest tickets when you submit your registration.
Event Timeline
10 a.m. – Student check-in begins
10:30 a.m. – Doors open for guests
11 a.m. – Ceremony begins
12 p.m. – Ceremony concludes & reception begins
What to Expect
When you arrive, you will check in and be directed to your seat. There will be a section reserved for ABSN-2 students and a section reserved for BSN-1 students. There is no assigned seating within these sections. General guest seating will be available behind the reserved student sections.
All guests over the age of 3 must have a ticket to enter. Tickets will be collected at the door. ABSN-2 and BSN-1 Carolina Nursing students do not need a ticket to enter, but will need to check in upon arrival. After the ceremony concludes, cake and water will be served in the lobby.
You will not walk across the stage during the ceremony, but be prepared to stand when your name is called.
Dress Code
Please dress in business casual attire.
Navigation and Parking
Free parking will be available in the Rams Head Parking Deck located at 104 Ridge Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514. Parking may also be available along Stadium Dr on a first-come, first-served basis. The Great Hall at the Carolina Union is located on the UNC Chapel Hill campus at 209 South Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27599.
There will be signs and balloons to help you navigate to the Great Hall. We recommend dropping off guests who may have mobility issues at the drop-off location in front of the Student Store.

Please note that you will need to go up one flight of stairs to reach the venue.
Accessibility Information
The Great Hall is located on the second floor of the Carolina Union. For elevator access, enter the Union on the first floor and take the elevator to the second floor. After getting off the elevator, take a right and go through the doors that open to the outside. This will bring you to the front of the Great Hall.
