Jönköping, Sweden

The department of Nursing in the School of Health & Welfare is in Jönköping, Sweden, which lies about halfway between Copenhagen, Denmark and Stockholm, Sweden.

What Students Do

Students have the opportunity to visit healthcare sites including a nurse run child welfare center that follows children and their families from birth to age 5. Students can also to connect with and learn from nurse researchers and work on research projects. One example is the Children, Health, Intervention, Learning, and Development (CHILD) group, which is an international collaborative of researchers with an interest in children who need extra support.

If time allows, plan a visit to nearby Gränna for classic Swedish stick candy, Polkagris, and Visingsö, the ancient capital of Sweden. And discover the daily ritual of fika, taking time with friends and colleagues for a cup of coffee or tea and a little something to eat.
