Calling All Nurse Leaders!

The Alpha Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing invites nurse leaders in our community to submit an application to join our chapter. Sigma is the only honor society for professional nursing, and members receive countless opportunities for networking and professional development in nursing scholarship, leadership and practice.

Those interested in learning more about Sigma and joining Alpha Alpha can access the Nurse Leader Membership Application by clicking here. Any questions about Alpha Alpha can be sent to the Chapter Counselor, Lindsey Horrell, at horrell@email.unc.edu. Those interested in participating in this year’s induction ceremony on April 5th must submit their application by March 15th.

 

A big thank you to all of our alumni and friends who supported the School of Nursing Hurricane Florence outreach in 2019. Your support helped those recovering from Hurricane Florence and allowed our inter-professional students to grow in compassionate care. We are continuing our outreach efforts by offering free community health fairs over spring break and welcome volunteers to join us at any of the following locations.

 

Wednesday, March 11, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Free Community Health Fair at the Roberson County Church and Community Center (RCCC) at 600 W 5^th St, Lumberton, NC 28358

Thursday, March 12, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Welcome Table at Grace United Methodist Church in Wilmington (homeless and refugee outreach with The Anchor in Wilmington) at 401 Grace St, Wilmington, NC 28401

Saturday, March 14, 7:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Free Community Health Fair at the Episcopal Farmworkers’ Ministry at 2989 Easy St, Dunn, NC 28334
