
The UNC School of Nursing is proud to announce the selection of Army Colonel Wendy G. Woodall, MSN ’08, as the new Director for Nursing Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Her leadership skills and dedication to patient care have been recognized by this selection. In her new role, Col. Woodall will oversee a team of 2,000 active duty, GS, and contract nurses, providing care and support to more than 1 million Military Health System beneficiaries annually.
Col. Woodall’s distinguished career in the Army Nurse Corps and her exceptional academic achievements, including a master’s degree in nursing from UNC Chapel Hill and a master’s in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College, have earned her widespread recognition. Her awards include the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal (seven oak-leaf clusters), and the Iraqi Campaign Medal.
