Anderson an MPI on a U01 Grant to Improve Oral Hygiene of People with Mild Dementia

Kenan Professor and Associate Dean for Research Ruth Anderson is a Multiple Principal Investigator (MPI) on a $3.47 million, five-year U01 grant awarded by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research and National Institute on Aging, both part of the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Anderson will lead a care partner intervention aimed at improving the oral hygiene of people with mild dementia. Participants will be recruited from North Carolina and New York. The other MPIs include Bei Wu from NYU College of Nursing and Brenda Plassman from Duke University School of Medicine; co-investigators join the team from the UNC School of Dentistry and NYU School of Dentistry.
