Dr. Anna Beeber, PhD, RN is co-investigator for a new five-year grant by the National Institute of Nursing Research to create and test new tools for individuals who care for patients with Alzheimer’s disease.
The toolkit will help informal caregivers, such as a spouse, manage symptoms of the disease that are getting worse as well as help them identify new symptoms to discuss with health care professionals. Beeber’s co-investigator is Dr. Philip Sloane, MD, MPH from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of medicine, and the study will be completed by an interdisciplinary team from the Program on Aging, Disability and Long-term Care at the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research.
