Congratulations to Dr. Marianne Baernholdt, who was selected to receive one of three Faculty Awards for Global Excellence from the Office of the Vice Provost for Global Affairs. The awards recognize faculty members whose contributions advance the University’s global vision, articulated in the 2020 strategic plan, Carolina Next: Innovations for Public Good.

“We are pleased to be able to recognize such an outstanding global leader, scholar and educator as Marianne,” writes Heather Ward, Associate Provost for Global Affairs.

The awards were presented on Thursday, April 21, in the Nelson Mandela Auditorium of the FedEx Global Education Center. The ceremony was a part of Diplomacy Week, which included a keynote presentation by former U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch.
