Beeber Named Beerstecher-Blackwell Distinguished Term Scholar

Sincere congratulations to Dr. Anna Beeber, who has been appointed the Beerstecher-Blackwell Distinguished Term Scholar.

The Beerstecher-Blackwell Distinguished Professorship Fund was endowed in the School of Nursing Foundation to memorialize Carol Ann Beerstecher-Blackwell, BSN ’71, a pediatric nurse and lecturer at the SON, and to recognize SON faculty whose accomplishments and career are determined by their colleagues to be highly significant to the discipline, the University and the School.

To receive an appointment as a named Distinguished Professor (full professor) or Distinguished Scholar (associate professor), a faculty member must be nominated by their peers, recommended by their dean, and approved by UNC’s Board of Trustees.

“Dr. Beeber’s robust program of research and commitment to improving patient safety and quality of care in long-term care settings make her well worthy of this acknowledgement.,” said Dean Peragallo Montano. “We are thrilled to celebrate this significant professional achievement with her.”
