Bernstein appointed to ILCA Board of Directors

Samantha Bernstein, PhD, RN, IBCLC, FAWHONN, has been appointed Secretary of the International Lactation Consultant Association Board of Directors.

Bernstein brings more than 20 years of experience in lactation support and has been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 2018. In addition to her faculty role, she provides clinical care as a lactation consultant with UNC Health in Chapel Hill.

“I’m extremely proud to be joining the board of ILCA,” Bernstein said. “We provide leadership and advocacy for breastfeeding dyads worldwide. This role is increasingly important as we work to connect parents to skilled professionals who support their breastfeeding goals to improve the health of parents and neonates globally.”

In this role, she will serve a first term from 2026 to 2028 on the ILCA Board of Directors, contributing to the organization’s leadership in policy, strategy and governance.
