BSN student Kearley receives Sigma funding for honors project

Congratulations to BSN student Pearce Kerley who has received a $500 grant from Sigma Theta Tau to help implement his honors project, a Heart Failure Education Pathway in collaboration with UNC HCS 3 Anderson leadership.

The purpose of this quality improvement project is to facilitate the implementation of the Heart Failure Education Video Series into daily practice for patients with heart failure on 3 Anderson. Educational video topics include daily weights, early warning signs of heart failure, and when to get help. Using the UNC approved heart failure videos, Pearce created a standardized process using QR codes and an educational resource guide for nurses to access, utilize, implement, and track the video series to improve patient engagement and education.
