Carolina Nursing Postdoctoral Fellow Natasha Burse, DrPH, MS, has been selected to present her research at the 2025 American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting and will receive a travel award from the UNC Lineberger Cancer Outcomes Research Program.

Burse’s abstract, “Associations between adherence to American Cancer Society physical activity guidelines and long-term quality of life among breast cancer survivors in the Black Women’s Health Study,” was accepted as a poster presentation and will be featured at the AACR Annual Meeting in San Diego, April 25–30.

As part of her participation, Burse received a Cancer Outcomes Research Program Travel Award, which provides up to $2,000 to support travel, registration, and other related expenses for trainees presenting cancer-related research.

In addition to her AACR participation, Burse was recently accepted into the Society of Behavioral Medicine’s (SBM) Early Career Researcher Mentoring Program for 2025–2026. The year-long program connects early career researchers with senior SBM mentors and peer groups to support professional development in behavioral medicine.
