Carolina Nursing welcomes visiting students and scholar

The UNC School of Nursing’s Office of Strategy and Global Affairs is pleased to welcome a new group of international visitors this semester. Two students from Norway, Emma Jorgensen and Elma Idudottir, and Visiting International Scholar Saijai Jarujit will join us for the months ahead.

Saijai Jarujit

Visiting Scholar from Phrapokklao Nursing College, Thailand. Saijai is a lecturer and Ph.D. candidate at Burapha University whose research focuses on hypertension management, adolescent health, and care for bedridden patients and their caregivers. During her six-month appointment, she will advance research in community-based hypertension control and participate in academic and cultural exchange.

Emma Jorgensen

From Haugesund, Norway, Emma is passionate about pursuing a master’s degree in health nursing, midwifery, or pediatric nursing. She enjoys staying active, traveling, and exploring world cuisines—though Norwegian-style tacos remain her favorite.

Elma Idudottir

Originally from Iceland and now living in Haugesund, Norway, Elma has a background in professional soccer and a love for sports and travel. She hopes to specialize in emergency/intensive care nursing or become a cosmetic nurse with her own clinic.
