Curriculum 2019 Update

The SON Curriculum 2019 Task Groups kicked off Phase II on Wednesday, August 30th. Our weekly meetings include reviewing Phase I assessment and planning information, large and small group work, and guest speakers. Ben Edwards, consultant to the Chancellor, joined us the first week to share and answer questions about The University Strategic Framework “The Blueprint for Next”.

Scott Singleton, chair of the School of Pharmacy Curriculum Transformation Oversight Committee, joined us this week to share the School of Pharmacy’s curriculum transformation process and lessons learned. Please feel free to review our meeting agenda and meeting materials available on the SON Curriculum 2019 Sakai site (Resources—Fall 2017 Task Group Meetings)

In addition to the appointed BSN, MSN, and DNP Task groups, Dean Peragallo Montano has appointed: Ashley Bryant, Coretta Jenerette, Jennifer Leeman and Sue Thoyre to the PhD task group.

We will strive to make this an engaging process between the task groups, the SON governance structure, and the SON community to move Curriculum 2019 forward to create the Carolina Nurse of the Future. The task group members are dynamic, engaged, and committed to bringing recommendations to the Executive Committees for further discussion.

We welcome your involvement and look forward to the work ahead!
