Dr. Zégre-Hemsey Co-authors American Heart Association Guidelines for Heart Attack Care

Dr. Jessica Zègre-Hemsey co-authored national guidelines for heart attack care that were recently published in Journal of the American Heart Association (JAHA). She led the emergency medicine section and is the only nurse on this paper.
The paper, “PreAct STEMI: A Standardized Approach to Prehospital Activation and Direct to The Catheterization Laboratory for ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction. Recommendations from the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline Program”, reports on an implementation project to incorporate best practices for ST-elevation myocardial infarction care from around the country.
Dr. Jessica Zègre-Hemsey serves on the American Heart Association (AHA) Coronary Artery Disease Systems of Care Advisory Group, a national committee that seeks to improve outcomes for victims of time-sensitive cardiovascular conditions such as heart attack and stroke.
