Five Carolina Nursing researchers awarded Sigma Theta Tau grants

The Sigma Theta Tau International Alpha Alpha Chapter has awarded research grants to five outstanding Carolina Nursing researchers and their teams. The grants will support innovative research projects in nursing, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and advancing the nursing profession.

Dr. Leslie Davis, associate professor: “The Recognize and Report Heart Symptoms (REHEARSE)-2 Trial”

Dr. Taylor Nelson-Richardson, post-doctoral trainee: “Dad Talk: Exploring Fathers’ Experiences with Infant Bottle Feeding”

Dr. Ayomide Bankole, post-doctoral trainee: “Adapting transitional care interventions to support socio-economically disadvantaged older adults with multiple chronic conditions and their family caregivers during transitions from home health care to independence at home: A pilot study.”

Rebeca Harris, PhD student: The Role of Structural and Interpersonal Discrimination on Latina Mother and Child Immune Pathways.”

Vinisha Dsouza, PhD student: “To design a meaning-centered, individually and culturally harmonious protocol for Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD) for internet-based cognitive behavior therapy intervention.”
